Our Environmental Policy
Caring for our community, our environment and the world around us is hugely important to us as a business and as individuals. Improving our environmental performance benefits the planet by helping us to reduce waste, reduce costs and reduce our impact on the environment. Taking action to reduce our carbon footprint enhances our credibility with clients and partners and supports our position as a company at the forefront of our industry.
At FreedomSites, we recognise and acknowledge that during the operation of our business we cause an impact on the environment through the use of resources and the consumption of energy, as well as through the use of road, rail and air transport. As a company and as individuals we are committed to minimise the impact caused, prevent pollution and comply with all legislation, recommended practice and industry guidelines.
As part of this commitment we have identified the following specific areas in which we will actively ensure we continuously improve our approach:
1. Recycling
As an organisation we actively encourage all our employees to recycle all recyclable material in the course of their work and we minimise the use of paper and other resources wherever possible.
We also encourage all our clients who are having printed material produced to do so in an environmentally friendly manner by either using recycled materials and non-harmful products or by using materials that can be easy recycled after their life cycle.
2. Travel & Transportation
We have adopted a sensible yet realistic approach to the use of transportation in our business and consider the environmental impact caused by our travel. Our goal is to continue to employ local people so we are all able to walk or cycle to work on a daily basis, therefore dramatically reducing our reliance on motorised vehicles; plus it keeps us all fit!
By using the internet and taking advantage of continually improving online technologies, we are able to deliver most of our products digitally. This delivery method negates the use of couriers and traditional delivery methods in all but the rarest situations.
3. Purchasing
We are careful in our purchasing policy to avoid waste and wherever possible we will source products from local business partners to avoid unnecessary transportation impact to the environment.
4. Supplier Choice
We will endeavour to qualify the environmental procedure of all our preferred suppliers and ensure they meet with their respective industry guidelines on good environmental practice. If we become aware of suppliers using processes or procedures that do not meet our own standards, we will encourage them to make immediate improvements or we will seek to find alternative suppliers who do meet our standards.
5. Energy Consumption
We will actively seek ways of reducing the consumption of energy in our business. As part of this commitment we will set targets for continuous improvement. Our senior management team will review the performance of these targets and commit the resources required to fulfil and communicate these issues to all employees.
Additionally, we're entirely Apple Mac based and Apple constantly achieve the highest worldwide rankings when it comes to reducing energy consumption in their products and by using completely recyclable materials in their manufacturer.
